Things I complain about being too expensive all the time

These are very much catered to my current country of living (the netherlands) in my current time period. So subject to change!

Cheese

Oh ma'am, cheese

As we all know, white people can be controlled by cheese (and pumpkin spice latte hihi). White people would do crimes, to have their thick layer of cheese.
So it is absolute torture, to subject those western europeans to these cheese prices.

I do like cheese. I was never the hugest fan of cheese, but right now I am craving it. Craving that thick layer of cheese we used to put on meals.
It is not unavailable, not unobtanium. But do I really feel like doubling the price of my home-made meal to put a layer of cheese on there?

My current solution is to use cheese substitute for my sandwiches, and just skip on the cheese on other things as much as possible. It makes me sad in the heart, but it do be like this.

Shaving razors

Ah, shaving razors. A trans girl's friend and also her ennemy.

I am kinda mad about this one cause I know exactly what happened. Big coorp monopolies set in the market, and jacked up the price.
Any alternative that was available at the time gets driven out, and all we have left is the same generic shaving razors that kinda work kinda don't.

Worse, inkt print syndrome has set in. There are a thousand different standards, and whilst the shavers themselves are reasonable the razor heads themselves are unreasonably expensive.

For now, I stick to lady leg shavers, even for my face. I absolutely despise how these disposeable things that should not exist are actually the cheapest option around.

Telephone bills

I mean, it is not completely unreasonable. Whilst fixed internet is really on the edge of what i consider liveable, mobile internet abonments are actually reasonable.
But I feel like they should not exist. Not in this capacity.

They should all be calculated in with the utilities, cause that's what they are in this day and age. Heck even most of the infrastructure is basically the same.

But of course free-market thinkers gotto make a competition out of everything, even things that do not really have anything worth competing with.

They don't have differences in coverage since they all use the same network anyways, and they don't have difference in features since we all use iphones and androids anyways.
So what's left competing for?

Soft drinks

In the same vein as the previous one, this one is not that much that it's expensive; it's that it's expensive compared to what it should be.
Hear me out.

If I get an alcoholic drink, I pay some amount of price, let's say 3 euro's.
Now what I find stupid is that if I get the same kind of drink in a soft-drink variety, I suddenly pay 4 euro's!
Oh and if I wanted a glass of water that'd be 4 euro's 50 please.

Now I understand gouvernements wanting to destimulate sugar consumption, but like is alcohol really that much of a better substitute?
Alcoholism is a huge problem and whilst I do enjoy a nice alcoholic drink, I do think that the gouvernement is being irresponsible with it; probably getting lobbied by Heineken and co.

And yes sugars are a problem too provide me with some more non-sugary drinks but like, even the sugary drinks are way better if even just for the amount of road accidents and families torn apart by alcoholism.
